Dane County is seeking public comment and information related to Chapter 71: Regulation of Icebound Inland Waters. This ordinance is intended to promote the public safety on the icebound lakes in Dane County. A public information meeting will occur on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The Dane County Land & Water Resources Department is responsible for many lake-related activities including maintaining the lake levels for the four major lakes in Dane County (Mendota, Monona, Waubesa, Kegonsa). In addition, the department addresses aquatic plant management, erosion, flooding, water quality and more.
