Stormwater-related Permits

Dane County regulates land disturbing activity within the county to protect surface water quality, promote infiltration, reduce sediment runoff, and mitigate flooding. Depending on the nature of your construction project, you may need a permit from our department. To determine if a permit is needed, please use the Do I Need a Permit flow chart, or contact staff for assistance. Please note that all permit determinations must be made in writing by our staff.
