Hot Diggity Dog! The Barks for Parks Fundraiser is Back for a Third Year!

A day of fun for dogs and their people, the Barks for Parks fundraiser raises money for upgrades, expansion, and special projects benefitting Dane County Dog Parks.

MADISON, WI – August 6, 2019 – The 3rd Annual Barks for Parks Fundraiser will take place on August 11 from noon to 4:00 pm at Badger Prairie County Park in Verona. This afternoon of fun includes live music, food, and entertainment for both pups and their people. Proceeds from this celebration will be used to build a shade structure at the Badger Prairie Dog Park.

This year’s Barks for Parks activities include: puppy yoga, an adoptable dog parade, agility and flyball demonstrations, a Dane County Ninja Pup obstacle course, raffle prizes, a drug sniff and article search demonstration by the Verona Police Department’s K9 unit, live music by The Material Boys and a long list of exhibitors, vendors, and local rescue groups. Refreshments will be available for purchase at the event.

Please note that dogs must be on a 6 foot static leash and have current vaccinations. Dogs must be people and animal friendly.  Please check out the complete list of "Barks for Parks!" Dog Rules for the event. The suggested donation for this event is $5.00 per person. Dogs are free but must have a daily or annual dog permit. These can be purchased at the event or in advance through our website.

About Dane County Dog Parks

Dane County Parks was one of the first park systems in the United States to develop designated off-leash pet exercise areas and has been used as a model for other systems across the United States. We now have seven off-leash dog parks to choose from, each with its own unique features.
