Event Description
Volunteers are needed for our annual Lower Yahara River Trail Boardwalk & Waubesa Lakeshore Cleanup event. Help maintain the beauty and health of this undisturbed shoreline by volunteering to remove trash along the Lower Yahara River Trail boardwalk and the Lake Waubesa shoreline at William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park. Collect trash by foot or boat!

Details:
- Volunteers 15-21 can sign up for our special Youth Volunteers for Conservation (YV4C) cohort at the workday HERE. Underage volunteers who are under 15 or who do not wish to sign up as part of YV4C must be accompanied by an adult.
- Trash collection via canoe/kayak is welcome. Reminder: life vests are required.
- This is a rain or shine event, but we will cancel via email due to dangerous weather conditions.
Accessibility:
- Volunteers must be comfortable walking on uneven and wet surfaces such as marsh and rocks, and must wear sturdy boots or shoes that may get wet and muddy.
- The cleanup area is about a half-mile walk from the parking area at shelter #3.
- Bathrooms available at Shelter 3.
- Our department is committed to providing meaningful access to our programs and resources to all individuals, regardless of primary language or ability. If you need language assistance services or an accessibility modification for this program, including reserving our all-terrain wheelchair, please submit this request form a minimum of 10 business days before the event to make the request. Please note: it is not possible for all activities to be modified.
