Chainsaw Workdays at Festge Park

Join the Friends of Festge Park volunteers in continuing restoration efforts at Festge County Park! We need certified sawyers along with brush haulers for any amount of time you can give us during the day.

What to know:

• Workdays run from 8:30am-2:30 pm, though volunteers are welcome to arrive at any time and stay only as long as they want.
• Sawyers must be certified to operate a chainsaw on DCP property. This means creating an account on our volunteer portal and uploading your chainsaw certificate (from SAWW or similar)
• No experience necessary to haul, we will instruct you
• Volunteers must be comfortable walking on uneven terrain

What to bring:

• Dress for the weather and wear warm layers, as we work in all conditions!
• Sawyers, bring chainsaws and all PPE.
• Haulers bring work gloves and helmets/goggles if possible
• Food and beverages provided at mid-morning break and again at lunch
