Event Description

Join Friends of Lower Mud Lake for our volunteer-led winter workdays! We will be working in two oak woodlands. One is an upland area and is home to a Native American linear mound. We have made great progress in opening up the area around the mound, but much still needs to be done. The second oak woodland is in a wetter area, close to a sedge meadow.

Details: Sawyers and haulers are needed. Sawyers bring their own equipment and safety gear. Haulers do just that--haul branches and brush into brush piles for later burning. Safety helmets, gloves, loppers provided for haulers.

What to wear/bring: Dress for the weather in layers--you will get hot as we work! Sturdy work boots are recommended. Bring your own water/beverage. A snack will be provided during break time.
