Agricultural Permit Fees

In accordance with Chapter 49.25, Dane County Code of Ordinance, the Land Conservation Committee (LCC) reviewed and approved the Chapter 49 Fee Schedule on February 22, 2024. Fees are effective March 1, 2024. Periodically, the LCC will review fees to determine if adjustments need to be made.

Manure Storage Facility Permits

Manure Storage Facility $1000 Includes: construction of a new facility, modification of existing facility, transfer systems, leachate/runoff collection systems
Manure Storage Facility

$2,000 Charged if construction occurs without a permit
Manure Storage Closure $0 No fees if permit is obtained prior to closure
Manure Storage Closure
After the Fact Permit
$1,000 Charged if closure starts without a permit
Certificate of Use $1000 Application can include multiple facilities under one farm

Note: Cost-share assistance may be available for construction or closure. A cost-share contract shall be signed before work can commence.

$0 Submit an electronic copy of the SNAP Plus database that includes the winter spreading plan

$100 Submit a PDF copy of the Nutrient Management Plan that includes the winter spreading plan
Winter Spreading Permit
w/out Nutrient Management Plan
$500 LWRD staff are available to assist with the development of plan for first time permittees
