Walking Iron Wildlife Area Photo Adventure
Event Dates
- Wednesday, 05/07/2025 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Event Description
Embark on a hike through one of the county's largest and most recent wetland restoration projects with Dane County Parks photographer, Sevie Kenyon. Spanning over 350 acres, this area is part of a larger 1,000-acre wildlife area and park. Waterfowl and various wildlife species are already making their way into the restoration. While the area is a designated public hunting zone, Walking Iron is also a fantastic spot for wildlife observation and photography.
What to Expect:
Be prepared for the day's weather, but note that storms or poor lighting may delay the event. The hike will proceed unless weather conditions force a postponement. The hike will cover roughly four miles on an unmarked trail that follows an earthen berm. Hike will end around sunset (around 8 pm). Check out our previous photos from the restoration project.
What to bring?
