Pollinators at the Park
Event Dates
- Saturday, 08/03/2024 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Event Description
This free, family-friendly event will include a presentation in the Center for Rural History followed by an interactive walk through the prairie. Besides identifying pollinators in action, you'll enjoy conversations about landscape history, management, plant profiles, and habitats.
This workshop is lead by Micah Kloppenburg, the WI Pollinator Habitat Specialist for The Xerces Society, a non-profit dedicated to the conservation of invertebrate life. Micah connects people, plants, and pollinators together by pulling from his years of environmental experience on organic farms, in community gardens, and restoring native Wisconsin plant communities. Above all, he is continuously surprised by the fascinating web of connections and interdependencies between the natural world and our human-animal lives.
Date: Saturday August 3rd, 10 am - noon.
Registration: This event is free! Drop ins are welcome, but advanced registration is preferable so we can accommodate all attendees. All ages welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.
